My August book pick was Red Queen written by Victoria Aveyard published in 2015 which was my second choice as I originally chose Room but it was also picked for my other project 25 books in 25 so I wanted to keep it seperate. My main memory of 2015 was I finally got my dream job working at a school until I had my fall and everything changed but am not going to dwell on that and instead give my thoughts about Red Queen and then what my September pick is going to be.

Straight of the bat Red Queen is one of the earliest YA Books and I didn't start reading them to I was in my late 40s.

I nearly Dnfed Red Queen at the annoyance of the main character who was pretty strong had two love interests and that trope I really could do without but it's saving grace was the way it ended as I wasn't expecting that so again I am continuing on with the series and at the same time the star rating increased to 4 stars.

I am really excited about September's pick which is When the Crawdads Sing as I have seen the reviews of those loving the book and those hating it so I will be interested to see where my rating will lie
