Believathon Day 28 Continued

While going through my Library online books I found to my surprise The Snowman By Raymond Briggs and it brought back memories of long ago. I remember being about 8 years old and my class were given books and one of the books was Fungus The Bogeyman and I loved it and I was hoping that I would get to read the follow up which of course was The Snowman and I did. This was before it was turned into an animation. So I thought as and Adult I would read it again and see if having no words just pictures would change my mind. Guess what it didn't I was still captivated and I truly believe that this book will be a favourite for many years to come. In my opinion Raymond Briggs is an amazing illustrator his drawings told the story and there was no need for any words and this means that anyone can read this book. So I am giving this 4 stars.

While searching again I found a very interesting book called Julian is A Mermaid by Jessica Love what a surname for a writer of children's books. It tells the story of a boy not any boy a boy who wants to be a mermaid and with the love and support of his abuela shows the reader that it is ok to be yourself and if you want to dress like a mermaid it is okay. I have never heard of this book and think that this is a hidden gem and if it wasn't for Believathon I would of never of come across it. For this reason I am giving this 4 stars
