Well I finally finished James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl and I am a little disappointed by it as I was so looking forward to it as I had never read this book as a child. I was so happy that Believathon gave me the excuse. The storyline was okay I suppose but I wish James's full name was not mentioned in the book as much as it was that only normally happens if a person has done something wrong. I also found the centipede very very annoying and them rhymes he kept on saying were far far too long. Don't get me wrong I love how poetic Roald Dahl writing is. I also wish that the characters of Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker were in the book slightly longer before their demise as I think it would of been more entertaining than the cloud men. I am glad I finally read it but it is not one of my favourite Roald Dahl books so I am giving it 3 stars.
