#tooexcited

Not alot of people know that i have this blog but now it is time to show my total love for books and what better way is to do my very first ever readathon. You may wonder what kind of readthon has got me so hyped up as there are so many going but none have not really lit my fire but now there is one. It is called Believe in the Impossible Readathon where you read Children's Books for the whole of November. Yes Children's Books and it is being hosted by the King of Middle Grade the one and only Gavin Hetherington. All Gavin wants is for us all to read at least 4 books throughout the month but if you are brave there are 10 prompts and a Group Book chosen by Gavin who has totally got me so excited to read it and this book is Frostheart by Jamie Littler. Throughout this month I will be blogging about what I read and how I got on which is going to be interesting as I plan to read 11 books. i admit I am a slow reader I like to take things in so I can immerse myself in that particular world.

So here are the 10 prompts and my choices and I will also let you know briefly why I chose these books.

Prompt 1 Read a book featuring magic - Wizard of Once Twice Magic by Cressida Cowell. I chose this as I already have read the first book and thoroughly loved it and could not wait to get back into that world .

Prompt 2 Read a book featuring a myth or legend - House with Chicken Legs by Sophie Anderson I had originally seen it at the library but decided to buy my own copy and I am glad I did I was just waiting for the perfect time to read it.

Prompt 3 Read a book with Real Life Issues I had a few in mind but after watching Rachael Marie's Book Journey on youtube my mind was changed after she read The Land of Yesterday by K A Reynolds and saw how it had touched her emotionally I knew that I had to read it.

Prompt 4 Read a book set in the past - Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder. I chose this as I had some of the books when I was a child and back then it was a TV show but I never got to read them in order but now I have them all I want to start at the beginning.

Prompt 5 Read a book with a strong sense of friendship Worst Witch Strikes Again by Jill Murphy. I could of gone down the route of re-reading Harry Potter but I knew I wanted to keep the story magical so what better way to read about Mildred Hubble and her friends to see what she gets up to.

Prompt 6 Read an atmospheric or creepy book. City of Bones by Victoria Schwab. I chose this after watching JadeyRae Reads on You Tube for quite some time now who truly was a big fan of V E Schwab but I knew that I was not brave enough to go for the well known Young Adult titles so I chose to get City of Bones from the libaray and it had me hooked. So when the next book Tunnel of Bones came out this year I knew I had to re-read City of Bones again and Believathon was the perfect time.

Prompt 7 Read a Seasonal Book - A Boy Called Christmas by Matt Haig. Again I had a few choices but wanted to read something that would get me into the Christmas Spirit and thought my first foray into Matt Haig would be perfect for Believathon.

Prompt 8 Read a book with an animal character - The One and only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. I chose this as I had heard it was based on a true story and that Ivan was a real animal I knew I had to read it.

Prompt 9 Read a classic chidren's story James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. I never got round to read this book but to me anything Roald Dahl writes is a classic. Not to mention that Roald lived and wrote his books in a village in the county i live in and that every year schools and youth groups get together with local artists and march through town and it was usually based on a roald dahl book but now any book can be part of the whizzfizzing festival.

Prompt 10 Re-read a childhood favourite - The Magic Finger by Roald Dahl this wasthe first ever book I bought at school through the puffin book club - yes that did exist but many moons ago.

To everyone taking part I hope you all are going to have an amazing time. I know I will and thanks again Gavin for setting this all up
